Knit Your First Sock



Knit your first sock!
Knitting socks is incredibly rewarding. This timeless garment requires ingenious shaping, but they are not as hard as they look.  Take your knitting everywhere. 
You’ll learn to cast on to double pointed needles, to work short rows, to pick up stitches and Kitchener stitch.

You'll learn:
choosing yarn
sock construction
kitchener stitch

Day 1: We'll discuss sock construction, yarn, needles, and mechanics. We will knit cuff and begin heel flap.
Day 2: Turning the heel and working the foot.
Day 3: Completing our sock and choosing a toe closure.

Basic knitting skills required. 

Materials:
Worsted yarn: 150 (175, 200, 250, 300, 350) yds [child, (adult S, adult L)
Needles: US #5 / 3.75mm dpns (or circ for magic loop)


Skill Level: beginner through advanced, not for first-time
Materials Included: 15% discount on materials purchased for class
Requirements: Must have experience using double pointed needles.
